Great Thrillers:

Inception:
I don't know how he does it, but Leonardo Dicaprio has a habbit of landing some of the greatest roles in history! Inception was one of the most in depth, well written, brilliantly acted films i've ever come across! If you really want to give your brain a work out then this is the movie for you! But beware, this is an intense 3 hour film so make sure you're completely in the zone to sit and watch the entire thing without interuption. A definite MUST SEE!

The Hand That Rocks The Cradle:

This 1992 film about a psychopath nanny will have you on the edge of your seat. Losing a baby of her own, the nanny comes tot live with a family and trys to take their new born. There's murder and mystery surrounding this crazy woman that will have you drawn in to the very end. Easy to watch, i love this one!

Hide and Seek:
If ever you're looking for a movie with a twisted ending, this one's for you. Hide and Seek will have you believing one story the entire time, only to reveal at the end exactly why some of the story just doesn't add up. Great film to watch on a rainy night in!

Sleeping With The Enemy:
Julia Roberts is brilliant in the role of a woman on the run from her violent husband after faking her own drowning. Again, a movie that has you on the edge of your seat til the very end!

Musicals!

The Wizard Of Oz:
With out a doubt, this would have to be the greatest film of all time. I watched this constantly growing up. I even had the dress and ruby slippers i would wear and pretend i was Dorothy! If you haven't seen this movie, i don't know where you've been! Simply marvalous and still loved even today. Made in 1939, this sing a long film is definitely a timeless classic!

Hairspray:
A great fun loving musical! I still can't get over how fabulous John Travolta is as the mother. What a great modern day musical for the whole family! Its a story of a young girl who just doesn't fit in. But along comes music and she finds her way. Its a great tale of accepting people and loving them for who they are. Definitely a must see feel good film!

The Little Mermaid:
How can you go past a classic disney movie? This is one of my all time favourites and has so many great songs to sing along to. From 'under the sea' to 'part of your world' this one's great for the whole family! How can anyone be disappointed with disney though right?

Tear Jerkers!

Titanic:
Probably my favourite movie of all time. I've seen Titanic hundreds of times and still cry! The love story of Jack and Rose is just unbeatable. Put that together with the true story of thousands plunging to their death as the mighty ship sinks into freezing water, how can you not shed a tear? This movie is great for a rainy day when you need to pass some time. Its over 3 hours long so i wouldn't recommend it right before bed.

Moulin Rouge:
Again, one of my favourites. I'm a sucker for a great love story and this one is exactly that. Very excentric movie, as Baz Luhrmann usually is, but very well made! Its a mixture of genres including romance, drama, musical, and even some comedy just tucked away in there. I guarentee if you need a good dose of entertainment with great acting, singing, and a tearful ending, this movie has  it all! Everyone should experience a Baz Luhrmann film at least once.

Marley & Me:
This is one of the saddest movies i've ever seen. They say when bad things happen to humans in movies, we are entertained, but when bad things happen to animals, we are an absolute mess. This movie proves that theory. I cried so hard. I guess it didnt help that my boyfriend was sitting next to me crying too while huggin his big yellow labrador! Great film and very well acted too.

A Walk to Remember:
One of the most beautiful teen love stories i've come across. Its geek meets jock with a wonderful story of passion and love attached. She is shy and keeps to herself, while he is mr. popularity and gets himself into trouble. Once he gets to know her by accident, he sees her inner beauty and passion like no one has ever seen before. This movie has a sense of peacefulness about it, and even though its extremely sad, the ending sorta makes you leave with a tiny smile. Definitely a great watch! But girls, i wouldn't put your man through this haha.

movies that make you hungry!

Hansel and Gretel:
This 1987 film is one of my favourites! Poorly made and acted of course haha, but a childhood memory like this movie lasts in my mind forever! Great for kids, but just know that even as an adult its a little over the top on the horror. No wonder my brother and i were scared of it as a kid!

Willy Wonka:
Definitely one of the greatest movies of all time. Released in 1971, in my opinion it is far greater than the recent 'Charlie and the Chocolate Factory' staring Johnny Depp. Be aware that once you sit down to this movie, you want to make sure at least a block of chocoalte is near by. This movie will have your mouth watering from start to finish! As a kid i remember watching this in my nana's loungeroom every school holidays. She would bring us chocolate covered marshmallow cookies just like the ones on screen!
